Welcome Message

Welcome Message from the Congress President
Dear Esteemed Colleagues, Distinguished Speakers, and Valued Participants,

It is with immense pleasure and profound honor that I extend a warm welcome to each of you for the 7th Congress of the Asian-Oceanian Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology (AOSIN) in Kyoto 2025!

As we gather for this significant event, we celebrate the remarkable strides and the ever-growing importance of Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) in safeguarding our patients during complex surgical procedures. The landscape of modern surgery is continually evolving, and IONM stands as a critical pillar, enhancing precision, minimizing risks, and ultimately improving patient outcomes across a diverse range of specialties.

This congress serves as a vital platform for the exchange of knowledge, the fostering of collaborations, and the advancement of our collective expertise. Over the next few days, we will delve into cutting-edge research, explore innovative techniques, discuss challenging cases, and address the evolving medico-legal aspects that shape our practice. From the intricate all fields of IONM the program is meticulously designed to enrich your understanding and inspire new perspectives.

We are also thrilled to announce that the ISIN Educational Course 2025 will be held in conjunction with our congress at the same venue, running from Monday, November 24th to Wednesday, November 26th. The topic of this year is IONM of brain surgeries. Specialized sessions are covering foundational concepts, brain tumor surgery, vascular brain surgery, and IONM in epilepsy. There is another opportunity to deepen your perspective on spinal IONM on Saturday, 22nd, the 47th annual meeting of Japanese society for study of spinal cord function. This comprehensive five-day consecutive event, ‘IONM summit’, will offer in-depth learning through lectures, discussions, and social networking events. We encourage all participants to take advantage of this excellent opportunity for extended learning and professional development.

We are privileged to host a stellar lineup of international and regional experts who will share their invaluable insights and experiences. Their contributions will undoubtedly spark engaging discussions and propel our field forward. Beyond the formal sessions, I encourage you to seize the opportunity to network with peers, share your own experiences, and forge new connections that will strengthen our professional community.

The spirit of AOSIN is rooted in collaboration, education, and a shared commitment to excellence in patient care. Your active participation is crucial to the success of this congress and to the ongoing growth of intraoperative neurophysiology in our region and globally.

Thank you for joining us. Late November is the best season to visit Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan, where you can feel traditional Japanese culture. I wish you a highly productive, insightful, and memorable congress and enjoy Kyoto.

Sincerely,

Kunihiko Kodama, MD.
President,
The 7the Congress of Asian-Oceanian Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Greetings from the Asian-Oceanian Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology (AOSIN)!
We represent a common interest group for this subject, and I am sure you are with us.
Since its inception in 2018, AOSIN has evolved to become an important society promoting academic & educational activities in IOM & ION. We continue to reach out to an increasing number of healthcare professionals involved in this area. While the yearly AOSIN symposium remains the major activity, possible future initiatives include online educational enhancement, position statements, and localized teaching courses. Kindly spread the message and visit our website at http://aosin.org

For 2025, we are delighted to have you join our symposium in Kyoto, held in conjunction with the International Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology (ISIN). This year, we believe that our symposium with be complementary to the 14th ISIN Educational Course that follows. These events are designed to cater to basic, advanced and special interest groups of participants.

Do contact us anytime if you need more information. We certainly look forward to meeting you!

Yours sincerely,

Yew Long Lo, MD
President of AOSIN
